Style of Music We are a Christian band and every member of the band is a "born again christian". We play only christian songs, ALL of the songs are bilblically based and derived. Most of our songs can be classified as rock. However we play a variety of rock, some light some hard and some have even called us a heavy metal band. One of our close friends classified us as Charis-metal. (it has a nice ring to it ...thanks Brian) |
About the band We formed the band in May of 1999. No one really said, "hey why dont we start a band", so it wasnt a decided thing, it just sort of happened. Some of our favorite bands include the following: |

IMPORTANT UPDATE: For those of you who don't know, FORTY STRIPES has come to a close. We have decided to go our separate ways. Jerry got married in April and could no longer play, he is also expecting a new baby this spring. When he was done, I (Jared) filled in playing guitar while continuing to sing. So we were down to a 4 man band. The last gig that we played was in Morrisville in the early part of Aug. 2001. After that gig we had a going away party for Mike who was moving to Florida for college. Down to 3. We practiced a few times with Sean, our guitarist previous to Mike. Finding time to get everyone together to practice was becoming difficult and finding a permanent place to practice was even harder. We have all been praying about it for a long time, and have decided that it is time to bring it to an end and move on. Just recently (about 3 weeks ago) me and Jim were offered an opportunity to start another christian band. they needed a singer and a drummer, we prayed about it, felt that God was calling us there and we accepted. The members of the new band are Me, Jim, Dustin Briggs, and Curt Whiting. Curt and Dustin are formerly form the band REVELATION. We are leaving the Forty Stripes webpage up. The email account will no longer be active though.
